LOGLINE: See what happens when you put a group of strangers from the LGBTQI community in a singing competition?

‘Diva Wars’ is a new UK 6-part TV Series singing competition. Unlike other comparable shows (Glee, X Factor), this Series creates acapella singing groups from scratch (primarily from the LGBTQI community), but it also has a strong social focus on the behind the scenes drama. The song format is pop-style acapella and will include vocals, vocal percussion, beatboxing; body percussion; live looping; instrument mimicry, rapping, scatting etc. and some pre-recorded backing tracks. No miming or lip syncing is allowed. ‘Pentatonix’ is notable example of a group using this format. The Series consists of individual contestants submitting online auditions, followed by shortlisting, formation of groups representing North and South regions of the UK, surprise eliminations, guest mentors and the Final. The minimum age limit for contestants of 18+years is due to the mature contents of the show and its themes. |
