About

With a background as both an actor, producer, director and writer in the TV & Film industry as well as an extensive 25+ year international corporate career, Genevieve Sulway (Gen) is not your typical filmmaker.

She was accepted into WAAPA ranked one of the top 30 Drama Schools Drama in the world – training alongside Hugh Jackman. She got an agent the same day she graduated from drama school and appeared regularly as an actor and voice over artist for the next 10 years in commercials, films and TV shows such as Home & Away, A Country Practice, Water Rats and Police Rescue.

The corporate world beckoned. Described as 'strategic, thinking outside the box, energetic and someone who gets things done' by her peers, Gen’s corporate career took off and she worked across public and private sectors in the Tech, FMCG, Finance, Media, Oil & Gas, Telco and Retail industries in companies such as Google, Tate & Lyle, Goldman Sachs, BP and Diageo. She’s lived in Australia, China, Singapore, India, the U.S, and London where she is based.

Gen returned to the film industry graduating with a master’s degree in Film/TV Producing in London. Her main focus has been learning her craft as a first time filmmaker-  producing and directing short documentaries with a strong emotional impact for the audience.

“I’d describe myself as having the best of both worlds:  the ability to be very creative but with serious commercial experience when it comes to the business side of making films.”
